 LOCAL BUSINESSES EMBARK ON NEW VENTURE;

DAVID COOK LIFE & ART

Wall Projects has built it's reputation on being an alternative art gallery exhibiting some of the most dynamic and contemporary art in Scotland. Kim Canale, Gallerist, continues to put on shows that are fresh and raw providing a fusion of artistic excellence that never disappoints. Her recent description as a “one woman whirlwind of artistic energy” shows no sign of abating as she embarks on her latest venture teaming up with Taylor's, the largest volume auction house in Scotland.

Their new premises in Montrose, are to host a programme of art exhibitions continuing Wall Project's trend of using alternative spaces to show some of the most exciting art in Scotland today.

This programme of events is to be launched with a solo show of one of Scotland's most enigmatic artists, David Cook. Like Joan Eardley at nearby Catterline, Cook has become obsessed with the rugged coastline, wild seas and tempestuous skies of the North East. The last time he exhibited such a large body of work was at the Scottish Gallery in 2009.

His expressionist landscapes and seascapes are compelling viewing and this is a rare opportunity for art lovers and collectors alike to view such a vast collection of his work under one roof and unusually for Taylors all the paintings will be sold direct as opposed to under the hammer.

The exhibition opens on Friday 19th November from 6-8pm where there will be an opportunity to meet the artist in person. It finishes on December 15th.
