This weekend, hundreds of motorbikes will roar through the Angus countryside as their riders pay pilgrimage at the ancestral home of one half of the partnership which resulted in the world’s most famous motorcycle brand – Harley-Davidson.

Three Harley-Davidson enthusiasts have painstaikingly restored a small dilapidated cottage at Aberlemno near Brechin which a couple of years ago faced demolition.

Portsoy was established as a burgh in a charter signed by Mary, Queen of Scots in 1550, and the first harbour was built at around the same time.Portsoy lies on the north facing coast of Aberdeenshire, approximately midway between Cullen and Banff. Of all the many ports along the Aberdeenshire and Moray coasts, Portsoy was one of the earliest to be established, and as a result is one of the most fascinating.

Bon Scott: Statue of former AC/DC frontman unveiled in home town of Kirriemuir, Angus where he grew up as a young boy before his family moved to Australia. Bon Scott who was born in Forfar is honoured every year in Kirriemuir with an annual BonFest festival growing each year, this year being the 10th, with fans travelling to the three day event event from around the world.
Ayrshire sculptor John McKenna, an AC/DC fan whose other works include a statue of Jock Stein outside Celtic Park, added: "It's a great honour; Bon Scott was an icon of my teenage years."
Attending the unveiling were AC/DC bass player Mark Evans and Tony Currenti, who drummed on AC/DC's debut album.
